Lucy McIntyre is about to complete her degree at Trinity College of Music, studying with Anna Noakes and Lynda Coffin.

In the summer she has been chosen to perform Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto with the String Ensemble that will play at festivals in Slovenia, Italy and England. This year she has been first flute with their Symphony Orchestra in Britten’s War Requiem Tour and second flute and piccolo in Stravinksky’s Firebird Suite. Last year Lucy won the Harold Clarke Woodwind Prize and was first flute in the Contemporary Orchestra that performed at Dartington International Festival in July 2005. She also performed Chaminade’s Concertino with Barnet Symphony Orchestra conducted by Martin Loveday. She has given a number of solo recitals at venues including Fairfield Halls, St Martin in the fields and Cranleigh Arts Centre.

Forthcoming concerts include Cimarosa’s Double Flute Concerto with the Anglican Sinfonia and a chamber music recital at Southwark Cathedral with The Neptune Ensemble, of which she is a founder member. Lucy has also been selected to play in the Tunbridge Wells International Young Artists Competition at the end of June. She was also recently offered a scholarship to the Banff Summer School in Canada. Next year she plans to pursue a career as a soloist and orchestral musician.
